Marine Aquarium 3.3 Now Available

Announcing the release of SereneScreen Marine Aquarium 3.3!!!

A new version of Marine Aquarium 3 is available for download. This is version 3.3, which has a Zebra Moray Eel living in the cave.

Marine Aquarium 3.3
for Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8

May 30, 2014
~ Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7 (32-bit & 64-bit)~
Download Link #2
Marine Aquarium 3.3
for Mac OS X

May 30, 2014
~ Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5, 10.6, and 10.7 ~

MA 3.3 is now the official version at SereneScreen.com. It will be a few more days before the text on the website is updated (it still says v3.2), but the download file is the latest version.

This is a free upgrade which includes two additional featherduster corals and a button to turn the Moray Eel on and off (for those who find it too terrifying to watch)

Thanks Jim. Good news.

ps- after trying it out, the starfish seems to be attempting
to climb the glass with 1 or 2 arms. Is this new?

The starfish no longer reverts back to its start position each time the program runs, so it may travel farther than it used to. It still won't climb the glass, though.

My favorite aspect of 3.3 is seeing the star fish in different places! Maybe next year he can climb the glass?

My fish swim through the coral as though it's not there. Can this be fixed?

Collision detection is the most difficult part of 3D programming. I've put a tremendous amount of time into it, and I feel I have a reasonably good system for avoiding the coral, as long as there aren't too many fish in the tank (16 is a fairly realistic number for a tank this size).

This is all assuming that you're talking about the Windows version. The Mac version is a whole different ballgame.

Hi Jim,

Haven't been around for a while, so maybe I've just forgotten how things work, but I can't find v3.3 for windows either. I tried the 3.2v offered on entry page but my keycode is not recognized. I wonder if I'm doing something wrong?

The website still calls it 3.2, but the file is actually 3.3. It should recognize your Key Code. It's a free upgrade.

Reichart was supposed to fix the wording on the site, but he's laid up in a Bankok hospital after a rather serious scooter accident.

OK, Jim. I'll try it again later...

Hope Reichart is doing well; I hear they have good hospitals in Thailand

Thanks for the response.

Hi,

I tried to download 3.3 from two sites and still after running, it was still 3.2.
Could you post a link to the 3.3 ver.

This has truly been a great product or more an experience. Thanks Jim.

The web page has not been updated.. the program downloaded from http://www.serenescreen.com/ is the latest version. Are you sure you are running the version you downloaded, you may still be running the previous version on your system.

loading 3.3

Thanks Jim,

I was still running the old ver. even though I loaded 3.3 it wasn't starting but after a little looking and a reboot it works great and looks great.

Thanks again,
Brian

P.S. A happy user since the first version, and always have run it on triple screens and at one point years ago, even in 3D. Was quite the thing to see the fish swim out in front of the screen.

Most.. websites that are as old as that page will give you an error 404 page not found. Be grateful that it still exists.. and..that at least the file is updated. Keeping the SS website updated has never been one of Prolifics strengths.. among many others
