More realism for Kelp and other plantlife

Just wanna say I recently purchased your Marine Aquarium for Mac OSX and it runs fine on my Imac 400Mhx dv. I,d like to suggest adding waving or swaying motion to the kelp, sea anemones and other aquatic plantlife to simulate underwater currents. Regards- Keep up the wonderful stuff.

No need to double-post, HD. We see stuff even if it's posted just once.

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your stay. Your suggestion about an animated background can be found many times within the 68 pages of this thread (which I understand if you haven't read in its entirety). The answer is that the 2D background will eventually be replaced with one done entirely in 3D and will feature moving coral and anemones (there's no kelp in the screen saver).

I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
'Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.'
I suppose we all thought that, one way or another.

Actually, there may be a kelp-like substance in the new background.

I haven't seen that one yet, but if you want to send me any screenshots you can use the PM function.

hi....just a wish, probably not possible.....to have the pre-lion fishes, fish avoidance code in play when lion fishes aren't present in tank. right now i sometimes put the starfish halfway up the glass just to see fishes swim by it close-up....lol

Ah - I do seem to remember something like that. It's not just the Lionfish, though. A smaller fish will always turn away from a bigger fish. All the fish behavior and collision avoidance will be changed for 3.0.

I'd expect the sea horse to make an appearance in one of the creature packs which are supposed to arrive after the 3D background of 3.0.

Tiny's right - I'm not planning on any new creatures for 3.0. I'll have my hands full just re-creating the 29 animals already in the aquarium. Any new ones will have to wait for the creature packs.

Jim's standard answer to that is usually "when its finished". The better question might be: What have you gotten done so far?
