If you have no sound in V.99K...
I have had several reports from people with older Sound Blaster cards who do not have any sound in V.99K, but did have sound with V.99J. I am trying an experiment with a different way of storing the sound. You can download this test version from: www.serenescreen.com/NewSound.zip
If you fall into this category, you are welcome to try out this test version and post the results here.

Re: If you have no sound in V.99K...
I have the sound blaster live 5.1. I have always had sound in the 99k version but the new sound is louder and definitely clearer. Hope this helps.

Older Sound Blasters such as the SB16, SB16AWE (very rare), and SB32AWE.
AWE = Advanced Wavetable Effects (I think), meaning a 2 or 4 MB MIDI wavetable/soundbank.

Thanks, Skypx, but I am looking for people who had sound in V.99J, but not V.99K.

Re: If you have no sound in V.99K...
I just got a response in another topic. Valeryan reported that this procedure restored the sound:
In Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs. Click the Windows Setup tab. Click Multimedia, and then click Details. Verify that the Audio Compression check box is selected. If it is not selected, click the check box to select it, and then click OK.
