Jim,

How can I test your beta version of MA3 ?
I have been a vivid user of your earlier versions since FOREVER.

Please let me be one of the lucky ones, and i will send you all my comments.

Thanks

Morgan handles the Alpha test team. Selection is based mostly on trying to cover a wide variety of equipment, and I think we're pretty well set for now.

The program is still in Alpha testing, which means that weird and ugly things still happen. Soon it will go into Beta testing, and we'll open that up to more Forum members.

Writing software is like travelling through an unknown forest. You only know how long you've been walking, not how big the forest is or if you're even going in the right direction. So if someone asks you to predict how long it will take you to get through it, there is only one thing that's guaranteed - you will be wrong.

I think I see a clearing ahead somewhere...

"Soon" has different time frames for different people. What I learned from visiting this forum is to just be patient. If Jim is working on it. He's working on it. Just be patient and let him do what he has to do. I'm sure the wait is worth it....

Embarassed still asking 'when'?

doesn't everyone remember...? long, long ago, in a forum not too far away... 'October' was mentioned. :-D what year is anyone's guess! (lol)

In any event, we are far closer than ever, and my sense is that it will have been WELL worth the wait. Very excited!!!

No. Absolutely not. No way.

Oh..... OK, you talked me into it. Here's a panoramic shot of the whole tank:

Yeah, I'm with Pat and Ralph!

I think I count 22 there, though I might be counting in some of the coral once or twice.

No new fish yet - that'll come later, after the beta has been released to all y'all. As you can clearly see, though, some of the fish are now pecking at the coral!

So that's why it's taking so long, miniaturization.

I think I had sea monkeys bigger than those fish in the tank.

You would think that with a smaller tank it wouldn't take that long to complete.

Miniaturization takes a long time... look how long it takes to make a bonsai garden. This will be a bonsai aquarium... charting new territory here and going for the oriental market As a value added feature it will sell with one of those plastic screens you see in the back of vans etc to magnify the view.

Nope, just a regular screenshot with all the unnecessary pixels removed.
