Question Log In

Please can a Log In button be added to the top area of this forum. It's a pain without one!

You must have it set up different... I have moved the favicon to my desktop so I can start my browser and go directly here. I automatically login so when this forum "opens" the only thing I need to do is click on "new posts". Works fine for me and I could not imagine how it could be improved.

You don;t understand.

Try logging out using the link above to the right and then try finding a "Log In" link like the "Log Out" link.

Why do you log out? I'm never asked to log in unless I'm on someone else's computer. I just click the Forum in my Favorites, and it takes me right to the unread messages.

Question

I don't log out on purpose. Jees, It's difficult getting something answered asily on forums these days.

Reasons I get logged out:

Updating a browser
Using site on another computer
Clearing ALL temporary and uneeded files
Other things

So all you guys, go and log out now and try and log back in. There is NO easy "Log In" link in the menu bar at the top of this forum like the "Log Out" button.

How do you think less computer literate people feel?

When you log out there is a log in section on the upper right in the same area where you input your user name and password. Why are you not seeing/using this rct?

Believe it or not, vBulletin doesn't come with a Log In form. Just the little Log In box in the upper right corner.

I guess I could add a link that takes you to a "no Permissions" page which also asks you to login.

I added it, but it's messy. It takes you to your Members page. I think most users will be confused. Why not just use the Login form in the upper right corner?

Right, In this case I must apologise. I did not see the log in section below the main header. Now a "Log In" link has been added in the same place as the log out link then it is deffo more intuitive but once again, I apologise

I'm willing to do whatever it takes to improve the forum. You don't need to apologize.

I agree with you. I miss a "Log In" button (that works like a normal "Log In") on this forum too.

feldon33:
I also agree with you, logging in and being sent to the members page is "messy" behavior but thanks for trying.

Oh-well, we'll just continue to log in first and then open this forum as before, but I do feel rectneil's frustration.

Hey retneil, I'll bet we are not the only members to wonder about this - you get kudos for asking the question.

Unless you are on a public computer, I'm kind of wondering why you log out in the first place?

I am afraid to answer that question for fear someone wearing a black suit and tie is eavesdropping on our conversation.
