That would be a good idea.

The last I heard Jim was buried under the user interface code. Once that's done to his satisfaction I would guess we will have one more alpha so our hard core testers can try and make sure it isn't about to crash to many systems. Then I would guess it will go beta for the forum in however Jim chooses.

Yes, still struggling with the fish-picker interface. It's astounding how such a seemingly simple interface can have such a large number of combinations and permutations which all have to be handled. When checkmarks are placed in some boxes, other fields must be set to a certain number (or replaced by a dash, which is a whole different OS call from printing a number). Not knowing how to do any of these things doesn't help, deadline-wise.

I thought you were going to handle the artistic side of this and Prolific was going to help with the mundane programing. Seems like talent wasted here... this time would have been better spent developing your interactivity / creatures

Edgar has been working non-stop on the multi-monitor code, while I struggle with the interface. There are a couple minor things that Edgar needs to look at with the music code. I still need to find and package some decent MIDI instruments with the default music file. After that, I need to speed up loading, and fine-tune the collision avoidance system.

In that case, I'll check back in a few months..

I don't mean to sound antagonistic, but is music necessary?

I'm sure it will be optional, but Midi music seems tacky nowadays?

Sorry, like I say I am very excited about MA and can't wait to be demoing it here in store on our plasmas.

But if Midi music is forming any part of a delay in your development schedule I'd omit it personally.

MIDI is just one option. If you don't like MIDI music, just load WAV or MP3 files.

As to whether it's necessary, here's the reaction of Prolific's in-house Beta Tester upon trying out MA3 for the first time yesterday:

" WOW! Who came up with the idea of a music play list?
This feature kicks butt!
I have it running on XP MCE (Flawlessly) with a Linkin Park mp3 playing in the background, bubble sound on. The music auto rewinds when over. That was a GREAT idea!
This could be a HUGE selling point!
I'd buy this right now just on this alone.
The graphics are amazing but I can use MY songs or audio files? WOW "

Thanks to Morgan, Tiny Snapshots is up and running again with "Tiny Järvafält" as the latest addition – Go have a look and tell me what you think.

"We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent.
I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
'Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.'
I suppose we all thought that, one way or another.
