Old versions?

I seem to remember someone hosting all the old releases of Sachs Aquarium, I am looking for the very early releases, thought I had them but cannot find. I have searched the forum for hours but cannot find any mention so I amwondering if it was posted on the original forum years ago?

I would just like to run the oldest one I can find to compare. (I will run through VMWare)

I'm sure I have them all at home somewhere, but I would have to dig for them in an old drive

The oldest I can find on my hard drive are....

v99L (Aquarium99L.exe 13/09/2001)(1.132 KB)
v1.1 (AquariumV11.exe 21/02/2002)(1.028 KB).
v1.1wide (AquariumV11-wide-0328.exe 27/06/2002)(1,051 KB)

But I can't get the 1.1wide to work correctly on a modern LCD, - the way it did on a Sony Trinitron CRT, ie wide-screen. - It's now all squished tall and thin, and full screen height!

I've got a CD of old versions somewhere. Dozens of the "99" series.

Edit: No luck finding it on a quick pass of my CDs though.

Again I can't find mine right now, so Cliff if you've got any, you're welcome to post.

Jim

I still have my old serial number for this version, but for those who don't would you have any issue with providing one so people can see how it has changed over the years?

How do you get these to run with windows xp ? It sets the ntdvm ( sp? ) process going , which is the 16 bit compatability process , right ? But nothing else happens .

Going to be installing a Radeon 9550 card on my desktop in just a few hours . I know almost everyone favours GeForce , but all the nVidia cards in the store were in opened boxes .

Didn't have to do anything they just worked with XP Pro on my laptop.

Cliff it works with my original serial number thanks. 99H stored the serial viewable in the registry and 99L encrypted it.

Gee, if I had known they would become collector's items, I would have kept them myself.

Well if you *cough* end up waiting 6 years for an update things become antique

You will also love this version, as far as I know it was one of the last versions with really fast swimming fishies.
And it is the wide-screen version (you have to adjust your screen manually eventually).

Anyone got an earlier version than .99D

Watch out for the widescreen version .99K if you try to focre wide it flickers on and off with the only way out being a reboot

Not very likely as 99D was the first publicly available version. I'm not sure of the release date, but 99E was mid-December 2000 and added the Addis Butterfly, the Wimplefish and the first French Angel.
Thanks to Morgan, Tiny Snapshots is up and running again with "Tiny Järvafält" as the latest addition – Go have a look and tell me what you think.
