Japanese SereneScreen Site

I stumbled upon this. Can't read it but it is definitely Jim's Work. His name is all over it. I like the design of this site a little better than prolifics. But is it legit?

Yes, it's legal. Prolific licensed them to do the Japanese CD version. It's selling very well over there.

The whole site seems to fit very well the Japanese culture and what I often see in Japanese websites. And that is meant in the best possible way.

Glad it's going well over there!

Glad to hear that.

No signs of a japanese lionfish yet, though.
Thanks to Morgan, Tiny Snapshots is up and running again with "Tiny Järvafält" as the latest addition – Go have a look and tell me what you think.

I suppose we all thought that, one way or another.

I am curious. If I downloaded the Japanese version, would it take over my settings? Is it all in Japanese? I want to download it just to see but I don't want to mess up what I have installed right now. I would do it in a heartbeat if I had a current ghost image on this machine. I can't check it out at work because I have an 8 Meg vid card. It doesn't run the aquarium.

It won't change your computer to Japanese. It will be just very hard to figure out the settings.

Definitely make a backup of the Aquarium 1.1 and all that, since you will need to redo the Aquarium settings once you get back to normal.

For a quick translation try the following on-line translation http://translate.copernic.com:8090/?...w.3d-fish.com/

The translate.copernic thing will not work with Netscape 4.7. Works good with M$ Internet Explorer though

I just thought I'd mention that this Japanese company has been very good to deal with. We expect to do more licensing deals with them in the future.

If they need any spanish person to check the spanish version, I'll be glad to help. Usually sites translated into spanish by ppl who are not native spanish speakers have a bunch of nonsense and words using in the wrong context.

Send me an email or a private message, and I'll help with the translation

oh, maybe I forgot to mention that american spanish is way different than spanish spanish?

so, it's difficult for a spanish to understand many many words from the spanish spoken in latin-america, as it evolved in a different way. Then, mix that with english-spanish speaking people, and you'll have a complete mess.

Don't tell me I didn't warn you

We'd probably stick with American Spanish, since a lot of orders come from Spanish-speaking Americans, and almost none from Spain.

I took two years of spanish and all I can remember is how to ask is, "One more beer please." and "Where is the bathroom?" So I guess I got it covered, huh? ^_~

Light, my brother picked up those exact two phrases (!) along with the ever-useful "There is a cat under the table".

If you speak two languages, you are bilingual.
If you speak three languages, you are trilingual.
If you speak one language, you are American.

I believe in bilingual education in this country from age 7. I think the parents should have a choice though. It is hard to say what language makes the best choice in the growing global economy. Learning Japanese and Chinese may be just as valuable as learning Spanish, French, or German.

And the teaching in the classroom can't be just textbook. It has to be total immersion. Newspapers, events (school lunches), etc. all in the other language.

It's sad that my father is French Canadian and I have learned hardly a word. I would love to be completely bilingual. It would be much easier to start at age 7 than now. We had a teacher in middle school who spoke 7 languages.
