Bringing corals to life
Hey,
I was just wondering if you had any ideas on how to get the anemone animated and all the tentacles swaying already or are you going to cross that bridge when you get to it? and any progress on the BGA? Thanks Regards, Neil |

What makes the swaying tentacles difficult is the fact that a clownfish will need to be playing among them. If it wasn't for that, I could project a video onto the object, similar to the "talking heads" in the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. With the clownfish present, I'll have to use the projection technique, plus several foreground tentacles that are independant 3D objects. Definitely breaking new ground here.

First, I plan to bring the easy ones to life - the Fan Coral and Gorgonia just sway in the current, so they should be a snap. Then the clams, since I've already done most of the work to open and close them. The anemone on the far right is extremely difficult, but I do have a plan for it.

The clams that will be animated are the big blue ones at front/center. They will open and close when fish touch them.
