Performance of Dell Laptop
I have a Dell Inspiron 7500 laptop - 750 MHz, 256MBytes RAM
and an ATI RAGE MOBILITY P AGP2X graphics card with the latest DirectX loaded from Microsoft. No matter what version I use from from demo to deluxe and however many fish, in full screen mode (1280x1024) I get just 12 fps. Is this all that's possible from a laptop, even though it's a pretty good one ???? |

Maxing one's FPS - A direct link
Michael/Morgan,
Is it possible to set up a Tips-and Tricks link that would set forth, once and for all, the settings needed to bring the fps to a max? Only the two of you would have access to it. It would include such things as DirectX, v-sync settings, the order in which DirectX and video drivers should be loaded, that the newest video driver may not be best, that 300fps may not be much better than 80fps, and what the minimum video card needed is, as Jim mentioned earlier this week. Thanks, Arnold |

That ATI Rage Mobility cannot do more than 12fps at that large resolution. Try running the Aquarium at 800x600 and you should see a framerate of 25-30fps.
The GeForce2Go is definately the one you want in your laptop. ATI didn't go as far as they could have.
